I can still blame Rockstar if I want to, it's not like Micro$oft comes in with $50,000,000 and Rockstar HAS to do what they say. Rockstar could tell Microsoft to go eat a fat one and then release the PC version along with the Console version(s) and make a lot more money on all sales at once since it would be available to a wider market all at once. Now all those sales probably wouldn't equal up to $50M but that's when it comes down to a question of "Do we want to make the highest bank in the shortest time possible?" or "Do we want to be known for being a fair publisher of awesome games?"

Personally I'd opt to NOT tick-off a whole type of gamer (in this case the PC-Gamer) and make a few less dollars. I think in the long-run you'd probably make the money back once your fame grows and people, of all gamer types, can look forward to your timely releases.

    1) if someone gives you $50 Million for a game that cost over $100 million to make. you fing take it and do what they say

    2) Releasing the PC version later should not of upset anyone with an average IQ or higher. every gta since 3 has been 6-8 months after the console version there was NO reason what-so-ever for R* to change that.

Now the PC owners can get ticked off if we don't get the DLC because the game is LIVE, but thats a different story.

I will only consider the DLC to be a on 360 and not PC a "big deal" if it ads remote-detonated explosives to the weapons list.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

1.) Assuming the $100M you figured is the end-total cost of the game; including advertising, shipping, etc; and the game sells for $60 on consoles and $50 on PC (for an average of $55). Market Analysis suggests you'll sell over a million copies.... $55M > $50M. And I'm sure that a million copies is super-conservative... 'cause that's just in the U.S. and not counting any over-seas sales or anything like that. Now, a study I saw once suggests that less than 5% of all games released makes all the money back it required to make them in the first year of sales... so take that for what you will.

2.) What if you've been mad about it since GTA III? Can you get mad about it then?

DLC: Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't get it... really wouldn't.

I guess in the end I just get so annoyed at how everyone wants to blame piracy first for everything when it comes to PC games. Back when games were made better and demos were released for practically every title... Piracy was nowhere near as rampant, now other factors have changed since then also, but it's interesting to think about. But that's just my opinion.

(BTW, I am in no way condoning piracy, I suggest if you download a game and like it, BUY IT. If you don't like it... delete it. Don't finish playing it anyway.)

It won't matter in a few months anyway whether they give us DLC or not. The mod community will tear this game apart and start making some home brew tools to make our own 'DLC' mods that will likely be better than whatever R* will produce (minus voice overs and cut scenes)
