After helping a half dozen friends diagnose their GTA4 problems, this is a key problem with most of them.

If you have an Athlon, make sure it is at least an X2 4800--a 2.4 ghz dual core, otherwise you are running below minimum requirements and have no basis upon which to complain that it's not running well.

It requires a 1.8 ghz dual core Pentium, but since Athlons aren't as speedy for games, you need a beefier one.

Reading and understanding system requirements and knowing your own system is extremely important.

you know posting comments like that just feeds the trolls. if you dont like AMD dont use it. simple as that. but dont feed the trolls.

Sure are a lot of game makers mentioning that their games work Best with Nvidia cards and AMD's i hardly ever see works best with INTEL. But it is ones own choice so for one to ridicule another's Decision to buy what they prefer, is just being a TROLL lol

Get ur facts right before u post something like that.

Funny really, I went from a totally unplayable experience with an E8400 to a smooth as silk experience with an AMD Phenom X3 8750BE.

Please realise that it's not just the CPU that makes the ride smooth, it's everything else.

Athlons have superior architecture. One of the reasons they aren't as powerful as similar intel chips is the die size on Intel chips is much smaller. While AMD was preparing for the future, Intel was banking on the present. It could very well be why Intel is looking to work with Nvidia to make a GPU the new CPU--because now that AMD has superior architecture they'll start shrinking their process as well and kick Intel's ass.

Oh man... You can't be more inacurete than that. Learn the facts before you start blabering like that.
