Now all we need, is for rockstar to manage the Memory right and use the System's RAM and not the Video Card's RAM and fix the damn memory leak which happens if you play GTA4 for more than a hour and which causes everything to grind to a halt during the worst possible moments.

agreed. using the video ram is ****ing stupid. i have 4GB of ram for a reason.

Installed the betas. best i got was a 2-5FPS increase. ****ing bull****. hopefully the full ones will do better.

a quad core is best of use with playing gta 4 thats what it said in the link i showed in the first post
gta 4 is a next gen computer game, saying youll see the full abilities when you use a quadcore with for example ithe new i7 chip and vista 64 bits with 8 gigs of ram and a high end vid card

cursing becuase of my anger over this game. I don't understand how my computer, which is more powerful than the xbox 360 can't play the game on the same level of detail as the xbox 360.

everything R* did with the game is just really aggravating.

I dont know what your settings & specs are
but a ps3 wich is faster then an xbox has rendering to medium at a reso of 1280xsomething
so if you do a reasonable resolution, say 1280 with a medium rendering and it looks good enough, you surpassed the 360

but then again, this game is fixed on multicore cpu's the first one in its kind that is build not only for dual gpu's but also for multicoring
im telling you, those with dual cores & atleast an 9 series from nvidia are in de high zone, and surpassing the xbox360 with lightspeed
if i get my hands on a x58 mobo with an i7 920 cpu youll see some real kickass graphics

if you see what happens to flight simulator, expect the same with gta4
and im saying this again, its not your gpu that needs an upgrade, its the cpu thats killing the most of you guys

according to rockstar you can run this game pretty deacent with an 8600gs on medium with a reso of 1024x800 as long as you have a dual core,

and what everybody forgets, is that Rockstar released this as an OPEN game, meaning alot needs to be fixed
just throw it infront of the public & see what happens
i think they did a very nice job, since there were no plans to bring this game to the pc for a very long time
at the end with all the fixes and mods this game will surpass any console release of gta4 there is

on the xbox and ps3 there is 1 option. play
pc versions have tons of options,
thank god we have some skilled ppl who do this for us

Texture: Medium
Render: High
Distance sliders: 22
Shadow density: 0.

18 FPS average
15 FPS low
22 FPS High

i kid you not thats what i get. Even if i lower it to 1024x768 i'm lucky if i get over 25 FPS.

360 Version runs at 720p which is 1280x720 and runs at a low of 35FPS.
Xbox 360 Hardware:
Triple Core 3.2Ghz Processor
512MB GDDR3 RAM.

So explain to me why GTA plays like crap on my computer with that when i can play Crysis on max settings 1280x1024 DX9 with a 30FPS average, Mass Effect on the same settings at 35FPS average.

And gta with MEDIUM settings i'm lucky if i get over 20.

Have same CPU and amount of RAM but i'm using an older X1950 card and 64 bit windows and the best I can hope for is about 16fps and often it drops to 10 or less which is simply unplayable.
also my textures look streaked and crappy

Real driver are out now. Not much improvement tbh
