There should probably be a note that the trainers don't work with the Steam version of the game. After trying many fixes, including the No-CD fix, and trying to load everything up on three different machines (running Vista 32, Vista 64 and XP), I've determined that it's impossible to get it to function without crashing the game, the trainer or both.
Browsing through this forum, I've also noticed that a lot of other people are having trouble with the D2D and Steam versions of Titan Quest, and probably 90% of them never seem to have resolved their issues. Considering that the 1.30 patch is a trainer people have to join and pay for, there really should be some clarity that the trainer wasn't tested for the direct download versions of the game. Thanks.

The trainer was made way before any direct download versions were released. Unless it specifically says STEAM or D2D next to the item description, there are no guarantees that it will work with any other than retail version.
