I have the same problem, BUT I got around it sort of. For me it crashed when I tried to autosculpt too much at once, whether tires or body etc. With tires, do the front ones, then accept and go out and race, then come back in and do the rear ones. For me it (the crash) seemed tied to the [0] key, ie, when you move from one area to the next, ie. front skirts to side to rear, or in the case with tires from front to back.
So try a section at a time, race and let the game save, then go back in. This has worked for me fine and hope it works for you all.

    Cheers

    P.

try running the game on one core only when auto-sculpting

minimize game, press Alt + Ctrl + Del , select process , right click on nfs.exe , set affinity, uncheck CPU 1 , click ok

Try reducing things in the advanced graphics options too. and see if that reduces the amount of ram used. When autosculpting do small changes like a couple clicks at a time. Also I noticed if you spend too much time editing the vehicles the game stops responding.
