I know this isnt quite the best forum to post this in, but i was curious to see how many people here have played the original Shogun: Total war, and better yet, who would rather see a second branch to that instead of into the era of exploration?

I kind of would. But it would be almost like medieval 2 just set in japan. if they came out with an expansion for medieval 2 that was shogun Id consider that to be good. I cant see them going back and remaking all their games every few years though, it just get repetitive and would not be cost effective. So eh, for now, try and find a shogun mod for medieval 2, or wait for empires, maybe theyll do something there...heres hoping.

The game was in my opinion incredibly well made. Graphically redone and with a few slight tweaks (Perhaps include something similar to the "Family" system they used in the other games?) The lack of a real time movement system (the 'World map' view of sorts) makes the game all the more intense and makes relying on one's Shinobi (the game's Spies, which, when placed in an enemy's land could also sow unrest, in your lands they hunted for other nation's spies and Ninja, which filled the role of assassin). The game as a whole, revolved around Sun Tzu's "the art of war", from various quotes from it's pages by your advisers, to tactics the AI will employ in game, i personally think both Rome and Medieval total war are great games, dont get me wrong, but Shogun just didnt get the appreciation it deserves i think

I like it a lot better. In fact I hate how hard it is to keep the citizens happy now. I'm also tired of fighting around the Med.
