Its supposed to be 200 years after the bombs fell, yet here we have a cave system populated with children. It makes no sense, where do these children come from?!?

probably ufos in disguise, the ones who drop the alien blasters

if you bothered to actually follow the story, then you would know that they are descendants of the people that once lived in the vault right next to the cave.

I'm so bothered with the fact that you can't kill children in this game, like in the old fallout games.. :P

But that would be politically incorrect and god forbid we let that happen!

irony is kinda the right reaction to this.
in the first game i think there wasn't any children. at least i can't remember.
the second game had children, and the german version of the game had them simply removed, breaking some things.
one of the kids fell into a fountain and in the german version you were never able to find them, because there simply was no child.
also i remember there was a town with stealing children all over it. (the one where you get the car)
there were no children either, making some quests impossible to solve and stuff like that.

now in fallout 3 i pretty much killed everyone in megaton, except for the little girl running around screaming.
i remember there was a little boy, too, but i never saw him since i started killing everyone.
but now everybody is dead anyway, because i blew the bomb. >=)


i guess there will eventually be a mod, that enables you to kill the children.
but it needs to big rather big, since you have to catch all the eventualities of quest essential characters and what those actions invoke for reaction on other NPCs and your karma.

and the next step is, that the media all over the world start calling fallout 3 the "childmurderers playground" or something like that.
similar to GTA:SA being called a sexgame, because some modder enabled previously disabled gamecontent . . .

Thats what I understood aswell, even if they are descendants of the vault dwellers it stil makes no sense. we all know whats required to have children so where are the adults those offspring life in the caves?

well technically most people can make babies at 13 or younger so it is possible. But I didn't see any teenage pregnancy...

So how does one get into vault 87?
