I've been experimenting with several saves to see what effects the trainer and/or some of the easily found cheat codes have on the game. MANY of the cheat codes from Oblivion (and tweaks) work on this game as well since they're both built off the same engine.

Here's one little minor quirk you all may want to watch out for: I used the "advlevel" cheat on one of my saves and basically maxed the character out across the boards at about level 20. But watch out: If you do this and you advlevel, the game still issues you x amount of xp points. But if you're maxed out and you have nowhere to send the xp points...too bad! You're stuck at that upgrade screen and there's nothing you can do about it. (Unless I missed something.)

My point: Don't upgrade too hard and too fast.

I believe all you have to do is use the console and "downgrade" some of your skills and attributes. Try giving your self a negative amount of skill points or attribute points.

For instance, place a minus "-" sign in front of the number of skill points and attribute points to award yourself. This will subtract your current value right in front of your face on the same level advance screen. Then you will be able to use those earned points in the level advance screen and you won't be stuck on that screen anymore.

In the console, "The ` key", you need to type this to advance your level up by 1...

    advlevel

That's all you need to type to advance a level.

Type this to set your level without receiving skill points or a perk...

    player.setlevel

Then you would enter the level number you want to be at after that. So if I want to be level 50, I would type this...

    player.setlevel 50

    Understand?

Try decreasing a few of your skill points back to 0.

You have to do like 3 or 4 of them.

So, if you're maxed out with all the skills set at 100 then type this...

    player.setav barter -100
    player.setav unarmed -100
    player.setav bigguns -100
    player.setav smallguns -100
    advlevel

Now you should be able to use the level up screen and get a perk. Keep those four at 0 until you get all the perks you want. Some perks may require a certain skill level in one of those four categories so you may need to set some of those back to 100 and reduce others back to 0 until you advlevel enough to get all the perks you want. Once you have all the perks you want then set all your skills back to 100. Understand?
