the only solution for vista users who have the crash and can't get back to the game for the time being is to rename the file:
Fallout3.exe.cat
to something else
(i.e. name it Fallout3.exe.bak)
this will turn of windows LIVE! allowing you to play the game without the crashes until we can work out a viable solution to get around the live for windows problem.
you may have to start a campaign from the beginning if you are not using live!
best, Cal
alternatively you can install a debugger that launches when programs crash (JIT debugger etc.) which will sometimes allow this or try running the game in a window, etc.

I am also unable to continue the game after the trainer is activated, alt tab will not restore the game, crash report menu will not allow the game to continue. I am using Xp sp3 not vista and have followed the info in the readme file enclosed with the trainer.
