actually the best way to beat him is by using a machine gun to bring him down, (or however you want), then run up to him and when he get's up, inject him with the syringe you got from naomi right before fighting the laughing octopus. you only need to drop him once. an easier way to do it is to shoot him in the head with the tranq. gun, as he will drop right away,(haven't actually tried the last one, but my friend said that's what he did.)

fully charged rail gun direct hit on vamp takes all his health away then go behing his body unequip rail gun equip syringe then when he gets up grab him, syringe him, then you can kill him.

Don't bother looking for Codec Frequencies for MGS4. They dumped them for the iPod in-game.
