As for gibbs mod, oh yeah, I looked. Inside the spore_game.package are two basic types of data files, .txt and .prop. While I tweaked the txt's gibb tweaked the prop. As far as I can tell the txt refers to specific locations in the .prop for where the game was reads the stats, I was trying to overwrite those references, whereas grib changes the data directly where the game looks.
Apparently he has worked out a method, which you can read on his thread at sims3... something, he posted the link at gamefaqs, to convert the .prop into xml, being far easier to edit .xml than ascii. As I said before though, I have moved on the different games (back to ovlivion), so I didn't really look into too hard.
Just hard enough to verify that it works, and how, so I could recommend it.
Did you say you're going back to "Oblivion"?
Meaning Bethesda's "Oblivion" or did you mean that YOU...personally will be going back to "Oblivion" because you "THINK" you're not appreciated in the forums anymore, because
someone came out with another "fix" to the Space Game?
Hell man....I appreciate the time you spent, tweaking all of those game files, AND customizing them to have different time frames....)
As far as your trip to Oblivion.........as you mentioned earlier....EA is watching the thread about the Mod YOU created......so hopefully, your MOD has made EA consider reducing those STUPID pirate attacks!
Yeah, this project got EA's attention, which pleases me, but that someone else managed to get the modding done better doesn't bother me at all. Actually I'm glad for it. With rick and his team cracking open the coding as wide as they did it will become very simple for anyone to make thier own mods, or for some ambitious kid to put together a mod maker utility.
Frankly I knew that someone would peg it better before too long, my mod was a slipshod production and it did ultimatly serve it's purpose as a band-aid until a better fix could be found. That EA has done a report on it is a HUGE bonus.
Don't worry, I'll lurk on the forums here at least until this thread dies, and I can always be found on gamefaqs, though my interests change frequently, as do the boards I actually read.
This site is really great couse you get all the info and the admins don't block delete or censore the links to other MODs trainers or cheats. Which in my oppinion only prooves that they are proffesionals. Also you get a trainer for a game in a few hours from it's release. Not to mention a trainer that doesn't crash works and has all the neet features you need. Sure they could release new trainers with 99+ options for spore. But guys new games are being released every day. As it is i am completely astonished how do they manage to produce a trainer for every game so quickly ? Not for a second i am sorry to have payed to be a member. This is how internet should be ! Great work guys. All of you !
