Regarding the Cheats & Hints.

Has anyone been able to accomplish anything with the prop cheat? I haven't been able to make it output anything while trying to use it and for ones I assume would work it doesn't appear that they do anything.

it's only working with bool properties (true/false) also it maybe only works with direct app properties (sorry don't know the file name with a list of that, but it was in the spore_game.package and one of the first files in alphabetical order.

I see, I tried lots of boolean properties but perhaps the file I was looking at wasn't correct... I was testing with wireframe for the most part because that would be the easiest to spot.
