downloaded vehicles/spaceships not work on Spore PC Message Board - Page 1

so i downloaded a bunch of ships/vehicles from the online sporepedia and my friend sent me some as well. i toss them into the vehicles and ufos folder and none of them show up in game.

i don't have an EA account and don't really want to do any of this through the game personally i like the online one better so is it because of the account or am i just doing something wrong.

With the Creature Creator you had to drop the images into the program (only window mode) so they got added... I don't know if that's the case for the game. Never needed that yet.

im not entirely sure, but i had the feeling, that all the "not maxis"-stuff first started to appear ingame as i was logged in properly.
maybe you HAVE to be logged in and online to have all the "not maxis"-stuff in your game.

its so fast it can do an infinite loop in thirty seconds!! =)

that's kinda annoying. single player game but they force you go have an account to use anything you've downloaded

I downloaded several ships and vehicles and I didn't make an account. The game has already picked them up and I've seen other races using my downloaded stuff. As long as you right-clicked and saved the .PNG files and placed the appropriate items in their respective folders it should work without being logged into an account.

yea i saved the PNGs and put the spaceships in the UFO folder and the vehicles in the vehicle folder and nothing showed up.

tried dragging them into the game, didn't work. tried putting them in creatures didn't work.

i'm putting them in the MY Spore Creations folder.

i did just notice that the once i've downloaded are a larger size than the ones made by the game. i've been going to the sporepedia site and clicking on the creation and right clicking and saving the preview thats what i did for the creatures is it different now?

yea i'm a moron. realized i had to save the non-zoomed out version instead of the full preview. for the creature creator it didn't matter. guess it does now.

Yeah guess I should have told you I just right-clicked the card and clicked save as, sorry. Glad you got figured out though!

yes that's actually part of the offical FAQ. or i found it on some offical site. this is part of the copy protection, or let's call it the "we annoy the pirates"-feature. Recently developers go back to some old day traditions of not "locking" pirates out, but have them encounter bugs and "missing features" (Drakensang did this really great, though it's hacked too by the time).
Well but this one is obvious, because you need to log in into the sporepedia on the spore website too (need an ea account). So why should it be different in the game? (and that was not the question, I think )
