As soon as you pick them up they are still alive yes, but are counted as dead. No matter what you do they die. Their captive. Hence it showing (player) killed (player) when your in multiplayer and you take someone hostage.

ya sorry bout that i started thinkin of another topic which included almost so i put that i haven't fallen asleep at the time and started fallin behind what i was doin sorry
but their not counted as dead until someone kills the shield or you snap it because all im saying is their still alive when your holding them
yes they are counted as dead when u pick them up. have you ver played online and the last guy is downed and you pick him up, then the round ends. the round doesnt continue until you break his neck, the round ends once the body is picked up
