Is is my imagination or is Mass Effect nothing more than KOTOR without the light sabres, jedi code and much better music composed by John Williams?

I mean with the + good and + bad, and all the various add ons... but hey, that's not a bad thing, I loved KOTOR too!

It was made by the same company, Bioware, so the games are going to be similar. Both are Sci-Fi RPG's set in a similar universe, so the games are going to be really alike. But Mass Effect is pretty buch KOTOR with a different storyline (I honestly don't know which game I like more), the things you said, and the music and graphics. Mass Effect is also more combat oriented than KOTOR was; it's not turn based.

Am I going crazy or was KOTOR not turned based? Unless that was KOTOR II...

I just never remember KOTOR being turned base...been a long time since I played it.

But yeah, KOTOR I and Mass Effect, made by the same company...very similar other that the story line and setting of the game.

Its not exactly turn based; you select all your moves, powers, etc. from a little menu on the bottom, instead of it having more of a FPS element to it.
