He's really not that hard, even on Hard mode. Make sure you have high HP, AP, and MP. If you cant beat him after a few rounds then fight monsters around you to level up your character.

i beat him easily just keep getting behind angeal monster and hit his back he will use a lighting attack at the last second dodge the attack and get right back behind him and you will beat him in no time.

Well regarding Angeal monster fight, wait for him to attack then dodge it (preferably, dodging it effectively so you get behind him for criticals), give him a good one-two with default attack or magicka (I used/spammed him to death with Dark Thundaga)
Regarding the goddess materia, I remember there were two in the same area of the door mechanism. One back in the cave with the save point in a rather secluded area. (Hang around the walls, I think it was too the very right side)
