ok from where that battle was, leave and go back towards the Cavern Nook where the save point was and save your game (if you didn't already). Equip the mermaid kick ability because you'll need it to get across the current at Calm Depths.
I would suggest having magic and/or healing items in your item slots and even maybe put some in Goofy and Donald's as well. I would also suggest putting Aero, Cure, and Fire or Blizzard in you mmagic shortcuts. I you need help with the battle let me know. It can be quite tedious.
