Opposing Fronts dont need 1st CoH cause its not an expansion.
and no you wont miss anything except hard missions on 1st CoH but you have same difficulty level of missions on OF.

Just wait till you get to mission Caen.

Well, COH and COH-OF are built from the same building blocks, but of course they offer two different experiences because the available factions to play as are different.

In COH there is one campaign to play centered around the Normandy Invasion (Operation Overlord), which is for the American Allies. During skirmish games you can play as the Allies or the Wehrmacht (Axis).

In COH-OF there are two campaigns, one for the British Commonwealth (Liberation of Caen), and one for the Panzer Elite (Operation Market Garden).

The units and options available to each faction are very different on the whole (even between Axis and PE) because their play style is arranged in concert with their available units and abilities.

For instance, the Allies revolve around a high mobility and volume of numbers, where as the British Commonwealth is highly defensive and artillery focused. Axis have GREAT late-game options but getting to them can also be their greatest weakness, while Panzer Elite are very good in hit-and-run situations and generally causing havoc on the battlefield with all of their abilities. Also keep in mind that "general trends" are in no way a rigid mold that the factions don't have alternatives to, you can play very differently if you choose.

If you're playing for single-player mode, then whether or not the Normandy campaign is worth the price of COH is up to you. If you're playing for online skirmishes, then having two more factions to play with and learn is pretty valuable and helps you to become a better player with and against them if you can learn them intimately.

And if i may i would like to add something to what Knightpress said, Dont forget it is a game and gameing is all about new things just like what Knight did a Mod to let us feel and try a different perspective of the game which is playing with all factions at same time and thats the taste of NEW. if you buy the other title you will actually try new thing and thats what i think worth for paying money for.

Dont forget to add Knightpress Mod after you buying the game!!

"I'm not even sure if we are a family...". Holding an axe by the knob as she was standing at the arch of the doorway, she said.
"Still I can dream, can't I?". He quibbled.
