Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Discussion
Trainer Tools and Resources
The crash gives me a BSOD that results in an immediate reboot of my computer.
The error message I get in the BSOD, is something about my graphics card or drivers. The BSOD only pauses for a milisecond before it reboots my machine. Not enough time to read what it says.
This crash occurs with all versions of R6V2, regardless of whether the applicable trainer is running or not.
My PC:
Intel Q6600
Windows XP Pro SP3 (I tried SP2 with the game as well, still crashes)
XFX nvidia geforce 8800 gt (512mb) Forceware: 175.16
Video bios version: 62.92.1f.00.80
From what I've read, I think it has something to do with my driver version or the settings in my nvidia control panel.
Does anyone have similar hardware/drivers, or know of a solution?

My understanding is, as of 5/6/2008, SP3 is officially out.
The technet bulletin is here:

Now whether R6V2 conflicts with SP3, I do not know.
The detection tool provided with the game, identifies my OS to be:
"MS Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)"
With a green approval check by it.
My system meets all of the minimum system requirements listed in the tool, approved by green check marks.
I am fairly certain that the issue is with my nvidia control panel settings. After adjusting a few settings in the nvidia control panel, I am able to play the game a little while longer, however it inevitably crashes.
Any thoughts?

Good luck!

1.The up-to-date drivers I am using do not work well with R6V2. For some users, dropping back to earlier driver versions seemed to fix the issues.
2.The game had a memory leak, supposedly fixed with the latest patches. However I am encountering the same symptoms of that memory leak even with the patches.
3.Graphics card overheating can cause similar crashes.
Well, I'd rather not downgrade my drivers, seeing as I play several games that require the up-to-date ones.
And theres nothing I can do about the memory leak, short of holding ubi's dev team hostage, forcing them to work on a new patch.
And my graphics card, processor, and motherboard run at 47c, 48c, 40c. (Respectively)
I'm sorry but I don't want to fiddle with this game any longer. Thank you for taking the time to reply mick.
I will utilize my $60 coaster to the best of my ability.
