This game is pretty good if you like Area 51 and that sort of game. It's alot like Half-Life: Opposing Force.
Not a very impressive arsenal- but so what who cares.
Not many enemies either.
It's cool how you've got a squad. Engineers and Medics are important, and specialist Soldiers are expendable.
The game finished a bit too quick. There's also no multiplayer- but so what, it doesn't matter.
The single-player mode is addictive- you'll want to finish the game four times or something.
Also, I've figured out ways to save alot of the squad members that are normally unattainable... but I won't tell you how. You can still finish the game without them.
This game easily gets an 8/10- perhaps a 9/10.

I played this game a few years ago easily one of the finest movie licenses ever and the loved how your own team mates could be helping you 1 second and then turn on you the next added a real sense of fear and paranoia to the game.

It was interesting no doubt, especially if you saw the John Carpenter movie...but to deserve that high of a rating is a bit generous. I played this one a long time ago...the fall of 02 if I'm not mistaken. Yeah it was pretty cool with the way your squad reacts to your leadership and things in the environment (like totally losing it) lol...the story was good too, I like the way they come back 20 years later and find everything left behind from the movie. But story aside the gameplay could've been much better, like your character I thought should've been able to sustain more damage, you get hurt way too easily in the game from flamethrower friendly fire to acid and that burst out of the Things. Plus the weapons were very poor, the flamethrower was way too out of control and did little damage. But really the collest thing about this game though was definetly the fear aspect...

All in all pretty cool game with a decent story, good not great. I'd give it a 7.0 or 7.5 tops
