I love it, but it's kinda short. I just ran through it 2 times and got bored.

GTA IV is brilliant, i rented it for the 360 for 2 nights and i got to the mission with Brucie and where we had to win a street race but the only thing i find annoying about the game is that its hard to control your vehicle, when you turn corners and stuff, but most importantly i think its class.

I have gotten about 50% of the game done, and just finished the mission where you rob the bank with Packie, and now I do see that the realism of this GTA's storyline is very good and how the action, drama, graphics, mafia, characters, physics, and dialouge all comes together to make this great game. And the one thing I was most surprised about was how we escaped (through the subway tunnels), I thought, "That's probably the closest freakin' way that anybody these days could actually lose the cops" (though hopping on a train instead of going back up would've been better probably). And mafia life is always, always more compelling than a gangsta's.

That's always been GTA's strength, the story and gameplay. Rockstar doesn't care about making the character customizable or letting you modify cars and buy tons of clothes, because those things don't make a good game. Especially the customizable character, that actually makes the game worse. Being able to choose whether your character is black, white, asian, or mexican means they can't make a good story that fits all the possible characters. With Niko, the story is made for him, not some character that a kid came up with.

Agreed. Although I do wish that we could've had modifible cars, for street races and online races. Which would be especially cool, cause you could show off your custom car.
I'm glad that they went back to the Mafia stories anyway because that's what really launched the GTA franchise to be huge was GTA III with it's mafia story and great missions and actions. And now returning to that in this one was even better cause they had a second chance with the mafia story and they knew what they were doing and could refine it.

I agree about the cars. Being able to modify them would be pretty cool. Especially with the amazing graphic of GTA IV, the cars would look amazing with rims and body kits.
Rockstar could easily pull it off, they have the Midnight Club series with their real licensed car parts that would look incredible on any of the cars in GTA IV.
The problem with the cars in San Andreas was the crappy graphics and the unrealistic parts available, but with the processing power of the 360 and PS3, the parts would be very good.
