How do I change a community lot to a residential lot. I have tried using the changelotzoning cheat with the correct spelling and everything. why won't it do anything thing when I press enter it is still a community lot. please help

ok bring up the cheatbox (ctrl+shift+c)and type in help. somewhere in that long list of cheats there is one that changes a lots "status" if you will. i forget exactly how it went but i know its in there because i used it once. to change the lot status u first have to be on the lot. i know it works in building mode when no sim is there. enter the cheat and it should change after you leave (and save!)the lot.

is there an error message appearing or no?
have u tried exiting the game and coming back in?
