I am currently about 40% through the game and I have six cars and about 700,000 in the bank. I have the Evo and Zonda for grip, GT500 and Charger for drag and wheelies, RX7 for drift, and the Evo IX for speed. I have them all maxed as far as I can, and I don't know much about tuning except for what I've read on these boards. It seems the farther I get in the game, the more horsepower the AI cars get, yet I can only max at stage three. Everytime I get to choose a marker for a win or a dominate I get an upgrade that I've already had to pay for just to keep up. Even my Zonda only has 850 horsepower, and my Evo IX is always 3rd or 4th behind other Evo IXs in horsepower. Is there a pattern to the markers, or a certain point in the game when you can purchase stage four upgrades? Also, when you buy a car you have to assign it to a specific type of race. Can you change this so I can run the same car in different races? I know everyone has their favorite cars for certain races, but I think the cars I have are at least decent for what I have chosen. I used to be easily able to dominate, and now I'm getting some 2-4 place finishes, particularly in speed races, even though the cars with the higher horsepower are the same car that I'm driving. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Which 911, and is there a car in my garage that you would suggest that I sell?

    Hi thrasherluver,

We have a specific guide out for this game, specifically written for issues like this, and also created by yours truly. The guide can be found here, just click the link to gain instant access to it: Link

Be sure to download it for a future reference!

Anyways, I will answer your queries here as well.

    1) The markers do not have a set pattern. They are completely random and there's no telling which is what. You just have to pray for luck and hope you've got the right one.

    2) Stage 4 upgrades do not come later on in the game at any point. They can only be unlocked via the markers, or using cheats.

    3) Once you have assigned a car to a specific race type, and custom-tuned it for that race type, you cannot switch the car's allocated race type without losing the blueprints that you have made. For example, if you have a Corvette for drag, custom tuned etc, and want to change to drift, you can do so but you will have to start out with a stock Corvette.

    4) I personally draw a line between my "favourite" cars and the "best" cars. Because I settle for nothing less than first place, I always choose the best cars. After playing the game over 10 times, I can conclude that the following list is quite simply the best car list in the game:

    Grip: Porsche 911 Turbo
    Drag: Shelby GT500 (2007)
    Drift: Mazda RX-7/BMW Z4 M Coupe
Speed: Audi RS4/Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 (depending on how much money you have)

There are also many other factors which influence your race, and the guide explains that thoroughly.

    I hope this helped you.

    Dude,

Take it from a pro racer...go to the engine tunning screen and max out the start and end boost...you can also play around with the nitro pressure. Its the fastest way to gain a lot of horsepower for free. Also put in the code: unlockallthings ... to get the stage 4 parts.

PS: Lowering your ride height is a good idea if your car is maxed out.

    Pro racer... wooooww.... >_>

Racing =/= gaming. And he didn't ask for how to set the nitrous pressure, he asked for a viable way to beat the game.

Also, nitrous pressure doesn't help horsepower. <_<

I tried the 911 g2 for speed and crashed it the first four times I ran it. Sold it as well as my Evo IX and Evo and got the proto Nissan for speed. Killed RYO with my Zonda, GT500, Charger, RX7,and my new Nissan. Plus I got RYO's car. Thanks for all the advice. It really helped. I don't post often, but when I do I always get friendly, helpful advice.
