I'm pretty sure you can't modify cars in this game. The only thing that Brucie does for you is give you free helicopter rides.

brucie's character does mod cars but there is no car modding in this game.
just like GTA3, this is the start of the next generation. we'll probably get modding back in one of the next two

thats really disappointing. Customizing cars is one of my favorite parts. I wish they put more customization into this one.

if the next game happens to be a Vice City remake. i'd say they'd put modification in. i live in south Florida and i can tell you that street racing here is nuts. everywhere you look down here you see a ricer or a some form of modified cars. got a lot of muscle cars. and the cops are insanely crazy on getting them too. My town has 15 undercover cars ranging from Ford Mustangs, Dodge Chargers and Honda Civics they use to sneak into the races and arrest kids.
and they're even more crazy in miami.

When I was reading the articles on IGN they were saying they had a feeling that a remake of Vice City and San Andreas are both on the way. They said they heard a lot of references to Vice City while playing GTA IV but Rockstar is denying it. But then again Rockstar wouldn't want to say anything for at least a couple years on this anyways. I'm really hoping that IGN is right because I would love to see a reworked Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

I can't see them doing a remake of Vice City or San Andreas. Releasing GTA2 on Live Arcade was something that would have been feasible, but Rockstar have said no. My bet is that GTA5 will be set in Las Vegas.
