Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA 4) Message Board  

What's up all. I did this same question/opinion thread for Assasin's Creed and got some really good reply's and discussions. So I'm askin the same question here for GTA IV. Lemme know what you think.

There are only 2 differences I know of.

1 - XBOX 360 will be getting exclusive downloadable episodes on XBOX LIVE. Microsoft payed $50 Million for it so it should be good. It's going to be more missions and stuff like that.

2 - The PS3 downloads data from the disc onto the hard drive so the game loads faster. The XBOX 360 doesn't since they don't all have hard drives. It really is a shame that we get punished because Microsoft is dumb enough to make a 360 with no hard drive for all the cheap people out there.

Overall I think the exclusive content is more important so the 360 wins for me.

Virtually you don't see a graphic difference between the two platforms when it comes to GTA, but exclusive content is nice, also the online servers for 360 seem to run abit more smoothly then the ones on PS3. Which is unfortunate since im a PS3 owner myself

I think we'll see DLC for the PS3. As a company, you don't get a game this big developed for your system then not use your PSN Store to get more stuff with it to make money.

even though i dont have the game yet i say 360 since its sold more on that console

We probably will but not for a good amount of time after they're released on the XBOX 360. Think about it, Microsoft payed $50 Million for that stuff. No one pays that much money just to get something everyone else will get. If the PS3 ever gets that stuff it'll be several months after the XBOX 360 gets them and sales start to slow down.

Also on the Xbox 360 is Xbox Live, which is supposedly (since I don't have it) better than PlayStation Network. But that is if you have Xbox Live. Microsoft did pay a lot to Rockstar so it will only feature special content on it's version of the game.

Awsome guys. Great points on all. I agree that xbox's online, in general and in pretty much every way so far, is far better than PS3's. In Sony's defense though Microsoft had about a year's headstart on them plus it IS Microsoft afterall. Internet should def be one of their strong suits. I think you're right too about Xbox's content updates. If they put that much money into getting a deal like that I seriously doubt they'll neglect to put it to good use. And I didn't know that about the difference of PS3's downloading to a HD and the 360's not. I thought all 360's had at least SOME kind of hard drive. I love Mass Effect for 360 and the Bring Down The Sky add-on was def a kewl pack. If any of them are half as good as it was I'm sure 360's version will rock. I mean, Mass Effect was great but with GTA there will be WAAAAAY more people I think that play it so the desire, push, and incentives to get more stuff out faster will be huge.
