Next time tell me which version you have so i don't have to post both games. Press L+R To activate it, it goes into the sixth pokemon spot, if you have the sixth spot empty and it does not work you might have to put a pokemon into the spot and press L+R. You will lose the sixth pokemon but get the pokemon you asked for.
