y do i need 2 login to relic even if im trying 2 use single player/skirmish, this means i have to update aswell, but im getting tired of having 2 update it. does this just happen 2 me or every1?

If you have a firewall, which you should if you are connected to the internet, you can forcibly deny COH access to the internet to detect and download updates, and you can then leave it as "vanilla" or update as much or as little as you want with manual patches.

The caveat of this is that the game WILL still require to validate that the disk is in the drive every time you want to play, which can be annoying, but such is life.
