I'm going to continue my tradition of getting 100% completion. I did it in GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, and Liberty City Stories. AS far as I'm concerned there's no other way to play Grand Theft Auto.
I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson

well, in GTA: IV you can now ricochet rockets off other objects and such. i think that should be sufficient enough to make a decent game. i've always dreamed of the day when i could do such things, and now i can.
i love the GTA series and like superskyline said, i think the only way to play any of those games is to get 100% completion.
i always do the same thing when i get a new GTA game, i ALWAYS play it through once with cheats, then once without, then when i play it without cheats, i go for the 100% completion rate.
so which one of you guys broke down and bought the Special Edition of the game?
i did

Not me. I would have done so if there was something really super cool in it but I'll never even use any of the things that come with it after the first couple days so I'm not going to bother.
I haven't pre-ordered it either. University ends for the year the same week that GTA IV comes out so I'll just wait a few days after it comes out to get it. I absolutely love Grand Theft Auto (I wouldn't even play video games if it wasn't for GTA 3) but I can never do the whole wait outside the store at midnight or spend money just to get a game a week earlier thing.

i just pre-ordered it so that i could play it the day it comes out, im probably going to the midnight release because last time i went to one of those they handed out free microsoft points, and posters and drinks and food. so i think its worth 2 hours of my time when i would normally just be playing rainbow six vegas 2 or something, to go wait for the game.

Not Gamerpoints, Microsoft Points. As in XBOX LIVE money.
