When you become a SPECTRE, new weapons become available to you. You can buy them at the C-Sec requisition's office or from the Alliance Requisition Officer onboard the Normandy. They're the best weapons in the game.

I've browsed through both of those...but never saw any SPECTRE weapons...

To get Spectre weapons offered to you from the CSec officer or the guy on the Normandy you have to get the Achievement associated with having 1 mill in credits first.
Spectre weapons are the best weapons in the game for the type/rank (I,II,III,IV, ect)
If Life was fair then every bad thing that has happened to you would have been deserved.
