That vette looks like a mean machine. It could scare little kids. But still the best vette in my book is the 67 stingray but that is my opinon.

Agree, though mine is the '69 427 ZL-1, only 2 were ever made.
Back to the '09 ZR-1, read somewhere that Barrett-Jackson are auctioning the first reatailable '09 ZR-1. Any thoughts on how much it will go for?

I don't know? I would "guess" maybe over 100,000$

I never heard about that. Maybe it was the first numberplate? I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Is that in Pounds or $US, $AU, or what.
Our "1" plate sold for a bit more than that I think.

This weekend we (New Zealand) have a round of the Australian V8 supercar series in Hamilton. Big event between the Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons. Will provide a link later.

Actually the first ZR-1 was sold a long time ago, several months. Like back in January. And no it was not even close to the $100,000 you guys are saying. Try more like $1 MILLION.

And about the hydrogen cars thing. Once again, it's not as simple as turning hydrogen and oxygen into water. Hydrogen is the most common element in the universe BUT it does not occur naturally. Since you can't create or destroy matter, you have to split hydrogen from something that contains it. You could use water or hydrocarbons like gasoline. Now, to do this requires great amounts of energy. So much in fact that the pollution not emitted by the actual car is offset by the pollution created just to make the hydrogen to fuel the car. Not to mention there are basically no hydrogen fueling stations or mass distribution systems. Sure you could use nuclear/wind/hydro power to split hydrogen but guess what, most of America's power comes from coal and gas fire power plants so that's not going to happen any time soon.
