good luck finding one on sale somewhere. but to get a new one you would be put on a waiting list (and have to go over there for the custom fittings) where last i saw was only a year long. and it is legal in the us but i believe they are still on a registration list where the government limits the number of cars allowed in the country ,like it did with the viper (and other Super cars) when it first came out.

Count me in, I'm a petrolhead from way back. Love the 'vettes, Mclaren F1 (named after a Kiwi, Bruce Mclaren, big in F1 in the '60s and '70s). I also have a large collection of diecasts. Currently in the process of photographing them (for insurance purposes). Heres the link if your interested. Link Most are in the folders on left of page. Largest folders are Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning and Matchbox. Still more to add.

Its fun collecting die-cast cars. I favor Johnny Lightning. JL always comes up with awesome Muscle cars.
As for McLaren,I seen one once on a car lot where I live. She was well protected. Kept inside a locked fence.

A Corvette fan I see, considering almost all your Matchbox cars are Corvettes. I used to have hundreds of those cars as a kid but I really only had them to play with. Never really cared about collecting them. I gave them all to my little cousins years ago.
I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson
