Hey guys. Imperium Romanum is a really great game, but sometimes you get quite annoyed by the constant "pointy finger" that pops up at the top left corner telling you "There are poor people" in the city. Anybody have any effective way of achieving a good standard of economy or does that just happen every time no matter how many workplaces you give them?

Besides, let's get some hints & tips up for Imperium Romanum!

Well first of all, you need to get your individual economy up. Tax's are good and all, however they are more effective with more citizens and higher class citizens. This takes time and resources. Resources you may not have.

Some maps comes with gold mines on the map which are always valuable on the market. However you can sell pretty much anything. Wine sells for a lot as well.

Afterwards, it's all about city management. You have to start with some residential area. However the key is to know how to manage your city regarding workplaces and everything they need to grow. Because if you just pop in like a 100 houses together with some markets and taverns, than pop some workplaces around that. They are more likely going to be citizens that cannot travel that far from there homes. Just the way the games is, which was the same for all the other Rome builder games.

It is pretty easy if you had experience with CivCity rome. However if you cannot figure one out, just keep trying different building methods. You will eventually find a good build method that can combine residential areas with closer work places for them to earn money.
