I think, if I remember correctly, Cure Disease works when you're first bitten by a vampire. You contract polyhemophelia, and if you don't get cured, you turn into a vampire. I think you have to rest like 3 days before it happens. So until then, get to a chapel and have yourself cured. Also, Cure Disease potions can be bought from retailers in Mage's Guilds, and some Chapels. If you can't find one, you can just go to a chapel and get yourself cured.

Some people may not know this, but instead of using cure disease potions or going to a chapel and using any of the 10 alters, you can alternatively use garlic. It can be harvested with relative ease from a hanging cluster found in several areas, including the basement of Rosethorn Hall. Its default 1st effect is Cure Disease, and even better, it is weightless, and therefore can be held in vast amounts.

1: you can buy cure disease potions from most apothecaries and mages guilds
2: cure disease potions cure any disease, even the disease of vampirism, but only before you become a vampire
3: any ingredient that has cure disease can cure a disease, if the ingredient takes effect and if it is the first effect, otherwise, make it into a potion
    ugh
