I'm not to good at explaining things, but I will tell you that it is a great game, it has a large variaty of online play, and a story mode that doesn't get boring, aswell as endless possibilities for game modes and weapon/vehicle combos.

Um...buy the first two games maybe?

You could probably get them real cheap now...especially used if you'd like.

The Halo storyline is very complex...with all the books and comic books that came out, along with the four games and the soon to come movie...I could compare the depth of it to something like Star Wars of Lord of the Rings. If you wanted to watch the last movie of Lord of the Rings without watching the first two...you wouldn't want to rely on someone's personal recap to understand the storyline...now would you?

i'm guessing the best way to start is too play the very first game. of course, u'd hav 2 have an original Xbox. i might be able to explain it okay, but i don't think u'd understand anything from it. like what we said, u should play the first one or two games. that's ur best option.

    Heres the short version:

In the 2500's humans have colonized space and control many planets. There is a collection of alien species called the Covenant that worship the Forerunners. The Forerunners disappeared 100,000 years ago. They left tons of technology behind. The Covenant know about the Halo's and think that firing them will take them on a "journey" to be gods. They're wrong, there is a parasite called the "Flood" that infects living and dead things with enough biomass. The Halo's kill everything in the galaxy that the Flood can infect, which starves the Flood and they eventually die. The Forerunners fired the Halo's and died but the Flood was stopped. The Covenant find the Humans and they meet but things go wrong. The Covenant leaders find out the Humans are really left over Forerunners that survived the Halo's. They did this by going to the planet "Onyx" which is a shield world. The Covenant leaders thought that if the rest of the Covenant found out that the humans are really Forerunners, they will think they weren't taken to be gods and the "journey" is just made up. So that is how the war between the Humans and the Covenant started. The Covenant destroyed many Human worlds. To fight the Covenant, the Humans kidnapped 75 kids and trained them and did things to them to make them stronger, those things only left 33 of the 75 alive. Master Chief is one of them. In Halo CE, he is on the Pillar of Autumn when the ship finds Halo #4. Ship crashes, Flood is found and released, Master Chief blows up Halo and kills everything on it accept a 4 Humans he meets later on in the debris field. They capture a Covenant ship, go to a destroyed Human planet and rescue some Spartans and their creater. They destroy a Covenant Attack force, a spartan and their creater leave without warning and go to Onyx. The rest go to Earth and warn that the Covenant are on their way. Covenant find Earth, battle rages and ends up on Halo #5, then back on Earth. More flood on Halo #5 capture Covenant ships and escape. Earth is under Covenant control, they find the "Ark" in Africa, it fires all Halos at once. A civil war splits the Covenant and some start helping the Humans. A portal takes the Ark outside the Milky Way and a battle ensues, the Ark is building a replacement for the Halo that was destroyed. It is fired to kill the Flood on the Ark but since it is out of range of the Milky Way, life in the galaxy is safe. Master Chief escapes the Ark but his ship doesn't make it through the portal to earth and he is lost floating in space.

The Halo story is incredibly complicated and you really have to play all the games and read all the books to understand it. I have which is why I was able to write all that off the top of my head. If you want to know more go to Google and search Halopedia. It is like Wikipedia but only about Halo.

You don't need the original Xbox...you can play Halo CE and Halo 2 on the 360.

In fact, you can DL Halo CE via the XBL marketplace...
