I just got the game for Christmas and I'm new to the boards. So just what is a flak mission? Is it a mission where you go down to the surface of a planet? If it is. they are the reason I'm even on this website. Could someone please fill me in? Thanks!

FLAK missions are where you are on board a station at 2 specific points in the game and they come under attack, and since you are there, you are recruited to operate the stations flak cannon and shoot down droves of enemy fighters...which seems easy enough...

Thanks! But, just for reference, when is the first one? I'm at the part where you go into Bronis' weapon factory in the Raptor-Nova Cluster.

I dont remember exactly...i've been away from the game awhile, I just started over from scratch due to a fresh install
