The best recomended weapons against the Flood are energy swords, fuel rod guns, grav hammers, machine gun turrets, needlers, rocket launchers, maulers, sentinel beams, and shotguns. Assault rifles and SMGs are good against the small infection forms. Its pretty obvious since they're the strongest weapons.

my strategy... grav hammer... firebomb grenades... flamethrower... rocket launcher... lots of hiding

IF you dont have much weapons
find an energy sword then when it runs out find a new one
cut yhrough the main flood
then at the end forget about killing every enemy make arun for the go

watch out for the puff daddys

cover is one of the best strategies
