That really depends on what you want from it. If you are a die hard NFS fan that wants the classic unrealistic racing thing, don't bother. If you like games like Forza that are incredibly realistic, don't bother.

This game is a mix of both realistic and unrealistic racing, the cars don't feel as natural as they used to and you spend a lot of time paying for the damage you did to your cars. I think the game is pretty good, but I think it could have been better if they stuck with classic NFS style racing. Download the demo off X-Box Live and see how the cars feel to you if you are seriously thinking about buying this game.
I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson

Ya i tryed it, i really like the graphics, but the speed seems to unrealistic....and NOS only last 2 secs. But you have alot of choices for the cars and customization....because i might get this 4 Christmas.....I have Forza 2, and its really good, it came with my 360

Well, nitrous is like that in real life. I beat Forza 2 but I found it very boring eventually. The graphics are very good . . . but I would expect that from any X-Box 360 game. The choices for cars are huge, there are like 60 cars or something. I've found that customization isn't as good as it could be. For example, the selection of hoods just plain sucks. It is a good game compared to a lot of games out there right now.

The one bad thing about this game is the handling of the cars. You have Forza 2 so you know what a realistic driving game feels like and you've probably played previous NFS's and know what they feel like. This game is a weird combination of both driving styles. Like Forza, you have to take some turns slowly but when the cars are fully upgraded they are very unruly and don't really let you take slow turns correctly. Honestly, I hate the way the cars handle in this game.

Oh well, hopefully Midnight Club Los Angeles will make me as happy as Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition did.

I recommend it, but only if you're a true, hardcore NFS fan. The game is very entertaining, and it will keep you going for days, even months. The graphics are on par with that of Gran Turismo, and the gameplay really has been revved up significantly.

The reason why many gaming magazines have marked ProStreet down is because it strays from the original concept of Need For Speed and takes on a more Forza-like attitude of realism. Need For Speed's all about doing crazy things in the game that you wouldn't do in real life, whereas ProStreet has taken on the emphasis of legal street racing, where you do stuff that you actually can do in real life. On that basis, ProStreet sucks.

But what the critics have missed (or the majority of them anyways) is that it's about the gaming experience. On that basis, ProStreet owns the world. Big time.

I miss the old NFS series. Where you participated in highly illegal street races with imported supercars on European tracks.
The new series mostly revolve around THE US OF A and the cool gangstah racers. ProStreet is no exception.

All in all, the new series peaked at Most Wanted, and from there, it went to "drive hard and cool, but drive safely" garbage like ProStreet. Buy Forza or Burnout, much better games.
