I have a copy of the witcher that I bought from Direct2Drive and the trainer will not work with it before or after the 1.2 patch. I read the troubleshooting and tried all the steps you listed except the no-cd patch item. Is there a version of the trainer that will work with the direct 2 drive copy?

You need to use the no-cd fix.
