iv got a virus, on one of my computers, that when you get it, it targets your msn, and sends a file to everyone online, but if they accept it, then they get the virus too, and it sends it with a message like, "hey do u think this picture of me is alright? or do my eyes look wonky" or something stupid like that, i thought i got rid of it, by deleting all the new files, deleting the file with the virus in and re-installing msn, but know it suddenly came back!
Thats rough. Yosup on the /--\ board said a message like "Why did racing_nut send me a virus?" That explains it.
AVG has gone down the drain in terms of effectiveness. I recommend using avast! over AVG now.
AVG has the following statistics:
Virus Database Test:
19 of 39 viruses caught (<50% caught)
Virus Wild Misses (less = better) (Heuristic Scan):
On Access - 745
On Demand - 234
(This is 90% worse than the next AV on the list)

Yeah I've heard that AVG is one of the worst virus detectors. Nod32 Antivirus(eset.com) was the best AV of 06'

Hello, right now I think i'm infected with a virus. I got 2 AVs and i'm using both of them to scan my PC. There was a virus called "explorer.exe"(NOT microsoft's product). Currently i'm on Internet Explorer 7. I got system restore in one bar in case. What should I do to get this terrible virus out of my computer? I am SCARED to death.
Dont know if this has been mentioned yet, but running 2 AV's at same time will cause holes on your machine.
Both AV's will fight over files and cause each other to fight among themselves allowing infected files to pass.
Stick to 1 AV only.
This goes for firewalls too.

No, Microsoft said that Windows Defender(comes with Vista) and another AV, will be safe. Windows Defender is meant for protecting you from spyware and Nod32 Antivirus protects you from viruses, spyware, adware, and etc. That is considered safe.
AVG Antivirus has been known the worst antivirus. Nod32 is the best.
