Modifying your hardware is legal because you already bought it. It's yours to do whatever you want to do. It, however, voids your warranty so if it breaks, tough luck.
Buying copied games is illegal because you did NOT buy the software.

yeh , its illigal but its acceptable in 3rd world countries that only 3 % of peaople can afford orignal thing ,
well here in my country 90 % peaople use copied DVDs bcs no1 can buy 100 or 200 $ thats is equal to million buks in local currency .
still here there is copyright law but we use it openly .
and there are lots of i mean million of shops of such things and are damn cheap , only we have fun fun fun and lots of un ..
