what does the thing pal on the end of some of the cheat codes mean?

PAL stands for Phase Altering Line, its a format a majority of the world uses for television screens, if your running a European version of the game, you'll need to use a PAL code, if your running an American version you'll need an NTSC code.
How do you know which one you have? Its all a matter of location, PAL only works on PAL tv's, which aren't sold in NTSC areas and vice versa.

So if i live in the U.S like I do i would use an NTSC code right?
