I'm playing the game for the third time but I still don't understand - what role does Gravemind play in the whole of the storyline? Could someone explain this to me?

he doesnt really play a role besides leading the flood hes kinda just in there so bungie could just be like "hey look graveminds in here you know from halo two huh! huh!"

He is something like a big ol brain...like...gathered intelligence or whatnot. The main core of the flood...central computer...something...

so basicly as i said he camands the flood

I know what he does, but does he do anything that directly affects the storyline? Something I may have overlooked? Like when you try and find cortana onboard High Charity, he sends you these images and messages to try and throw you off your game, but what does that do to you and the storyline?

Nothing really except you know a big brown talking thing with a brain and tenticals knows where you are and can talk to you through tellekenisis

I guess we need to learn how to look at a story line, gravemind plays a considerable role in the halo universe, hes the catalyst for many of the events that happen in the game and is a key player in the story line.
