The Hunting Horns are easier to use than Gunlances. It's easier to move about and they are way stronger. On the other hand, Gunlances are less annoying, as Hunting Horns you have to play a tune every 3 minutes or so, and if your hunting horn has a crap sharpness (say it says your sharpness has went down) you have to re-play the tune to get all your power. But they are rather useful and it wouldn't be fair if they stayed on forever. Also, Gunlances lose their sharpness by shooting, which I think is pretty lame, and when your charge your bazooka thing and miss you have to wait ages for it to come back and just annoys you even more.
In conclusion, Hunting Horns are more entertaining, useful and easier to use. As Gunlances is for the better and experianced hunter who likes to take risks.
Wow I've never written so formally since primary school...
Wow your calling me an experianced hunter thank you!
nyways for gunlances all yu have to do is know the monsters moves. Alot of monsters have a point where they stand there and growl. For example the kut ku does it alot. As soon as they do this you can do wyverns fire and get in a good decent hit. Also you can avoid the sharpness problem with the longer lasting sharpness skill (sorry i cant remember what its called) or sword sharpening inc. (the one ive got and an overall decent skill for melee weapons). Also Gaurd+2 is a useful skill as it alows you to block without taking alot of damage or stamina. This allows you to keep your weapon out in a fight and block any incoming attacks.
Heres a link to why hunting horns are gr8Link
