You can get Black Pearls by searching the coast line in Area 4 of the Jungle,and I think that if you trade a battle field jewel to the jungle/swamp veggie elder you'll get thunderbug juice

Also when fighting the Daiymo Hermitaur,l get him off guard. He'll drop a sparkly thing that may sometimes be a black or crab pearl.

kill the daiymo hermitaur and you might carve it or get it in the reward, my advice do the hr2 hermitaur mission because there are infinite hermitaurs just keep killing them and you will carve them or get them in the reward

mining in the volcanoe and i think you get some when you do the village troublesome pair

do a hermitaur quest (killing the little ones) you can get like 6 black pearls from the rewards.
