I agree, I was disappointed in this game, I thought it would've been a lot better, it's just about as big of a let down as Halo 3 is to me.

I personally thoroughly enjoyed the game. Maybe because I never heard of it till about five months after it was released, maybe because I like the idea of being in a radioactive wasteland full of mutants. (Fallout 3, anyone?)
Things I didn't like: Pripyat and the NPP should have been more accessible and open, since they are that most important things in "the Zone". When I bought this game I thought I was going to get to walk through a city, going from hotel to shop to ferris wheel to shop to hotel over and over again, hiding from mutants. Instead, I got a bunch of wilderness and a small "city" area. -- Also: I was running the game, going "this is ugly" and then I turned on "objects dynamic lighting" and everything was... Purdy-ful.
I'm not one to brag about my financial skills, but my credit card company calls me almost every day to tell me my balance is outstanding.
