A sister thread to the official "chu halo party" thread, I think we need to discuss game types. As I'm sure we don't want to play the same old "slayer and ctf" into the deep hours of the night.
I have a few ideas myself, which I'll post in the following format, I expect everyone else to follow this format so we can decide which ones are going to be made and played on game night.
Name: Pirates
Gametype: Slayer/VIP
Rule set: Like the zombies gametype of halo 2, this is a non-code enforced game. Basically, 2 teams have 2 elephants on sand trap, these teams wage war between the 2 elephants and they are not allowed to touch the ground. The rule set for what happens when one touches the ground is debatable, but I think that the overboard needs to seize fire and be unable to return fire until he is back aboard a vehicle. This person is still however, fair game.
Vehicles: One Elephant and one "cargo" vehicle, probably a passenger warthog, Per team.
Weapons: Human weaponry most likely, however, variations may be made, as a pirate fight is nothing without swords. Me and DR were talking about a flamethrower "fireship" match, and possibly even something like a brute shot match could be enabled.
Objectives: First to 50/100 kills, or if were playing "kill the captain aka VIP mode" 20-30 kills.
Misc/Notes: Tactics may include using the hog to board the enemy elephant or simply ridding yours close to theirs and jumping aboard. Like the name says, this should recreate a half decent pirate battle. atm)
---------------------------------------------------
Name: Stop! Hammer Time!
Gametype: Slayer
Rule set: FFA Standard Slayer
Vehicles: Mongoose (multiple)
Weapons: Gravity Hammers
Objectives: First to 25/50
Misc/Notes: The gravity hammer is said to "toss" vehicles around, picture a mongoose for every player on a tiny map, with every person wielding a hammer. To splatter or be splattered.
----------------------------------------------
We'll probably do a few of the classic gametypes along side these new ideas, such as swat, rockets, swords, snipes, etc. So be original if you can, or just recommend classics if you must.
