DotA is just a map for WarCraft 3 TFT.
It's an RPG like lvl where you select a hero and battle the enemy. Each team has a base and must defend it while attacking the enemy base... That's the short version.
Anyway to use DotA be sure you have the latest game patch and the latest version of DotA and you should be fine.
The DotA file must be placed in the game's Maps directory and will then be found in the map list in-game.

Probably gonna be the first player to get builders made and rush over to the enemy base.
Like all games are like.
Thats why i play with my friends and we have a special score system, you get points for every tech researched, so someone that does mostly research and resource gathering and still loses cause the other player just rushed in, will likely win, cause a fully teched base is worth more then just plain winning.
