S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Message Board  

Hi all need a bit of help.

I'm runing stalker on vista with the v1.003 patch and the v1.003 trainer and i'm suffering constant crashing and the error message is saying that the "XR_3DA.exe" has stopped working. I've tried to run it with the compatibilty mode set to "xp service pack 2" with no improvment and i don't know whats up.

Any help or sugestions?

Wait, is it the game that's saying that or is it the trainer? 🤔

Windows is saying "XR_3DA.exe" has stopped working and some times not even that it just crashes back to the desktop and there is no error message at all but i don't seem to get any error messages from the game it's self and the trainer is still running after the game has closed with no problems that i can see.

The crashes happen ether whith in 2 Mins of starting a game or can take more than 2 to 3 hours to happen, but happen they do.

maybe the game has a problem with vista itself.... I have it for XP and it works fine...i think there might be a stalker support site.. maybe u should try there.

No this is probably a problem with the way the trainer is set up to work. I suspect that because the trainer makes your armor godlike when u use the Invincible + no armor dmg option, the game can't register it or something. Seems to affect me everytime I try to put on a new suit of armor other than my starting suit, and save the game.

Yeah I tested it again. I managed to keep saving the game with no problems whatsoever with the trainer options 1,2,3 and 4 on. After I tired of playing for the day and saved my game, I tried selling my jacket with godlike stats (that trainer option number 1 makes you get) to any trader. Game told me that the trader did not have enough money. After I put my jacket back on, and tried to save, the game crashed to desktop.
