This game is the main reason why I've upgraded to Vista and got an 8800GTS 640mb and an Intel Q6600!

I truly believe, and not just because of all the hype, that this game will be the benchmark for games in the future, not just on PC but probably for this style of game on consoles as well.

I think that if they've fully utilised the DX10 API and got it running well on Vista, then this will do more for the sales of DX10 cards and Vista than anything nVidia and Microsoft can churn in terms of marketing and pushing sales.

With Bioshock, and Crysis coming up, PC gaming is raising the bar once again for game design.

Just my penny's worth, I personally can't wait until next Friday when it's released in the UK!

if you have a decent rig then computers will always, ALWAYS be better than any console. take a look at what they had to do to balance the gameplay between xbox and pc users. they added aim assist to the xbox users, how lame.

as for the live for windows thing that is just a rip off. im sorry but paying 50 dollars a year for something that is free on most pc game servers is just ridiculous.

mods are probably the biggest reason for playing on pc, however i dont know how much it will apply to a game like bioshock with the possible exception of new textures down the road like they did with half life 2.

for the 5000th time. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN XBOX LIVE GOLD MEMBERSHIP FOR Games For Windows!!!!!!!!!!

i don't know why none of you people can read.
the ONLY things a gold membership gets you is
    -True Skill Matchmaking
-MP Achievements (which only Halo2 has right now and it's only like 200 points)
-Matchmaking with friends on xbox live
    -CROSS-Playform gameplay.

you do NOT have to pay for PC to PC play or any form of multiplayer outside of what i just said. you get single player achievements and full text chat, and full multiplayer.

and as microsoft has said a few thousand times you will NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR PC TO PC play!

And if you already have a 360 then it's not that bad of a deal since your paying one price for both systems. and paying 50 bucks for cross-platform and the extra features will be worth it down the road when more cross-platform games come out.
