Try the best defence, they allways have some good armor(in your level Silver plate). They are in the Imperial City Market disctrit and you can find some cool Silver plate armor laying around in the fighters guild halls.

I think you can get a better daedric enchanted sword than the umbra, but i may be wrong, if you dont complete the ques for the umbra you can have it in your inventory weightless.

A reward for a daedric quest is goldbrand, a sword that with it's fire dmg added is better than Umbra.

in shivering isles there is a sword that has the same rating as umbra, shadowrend, its a two-hander with weakness to magicka and damage health
